daily gratitude

"Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues,
but the parent of all others."
~Cicero

October 29, 2013: I have always loved our family (Wreaths and Dunaways)... But these past two weeks have just overwhelmed me with how incredibly blessed we are. The way everyone loves and comforts each other, the way there are no lines and borders, just deep, warm, lasting love. Eddie I'm so glad you're here. Mom and Dad Joe N Alison Dunaway I'm so grateful for you. More than I've ever managed to express. SMOOCH!!!

Tuesday, November 5, 2013: I am grateful for harmony in my marriage. It makes the easy times blissful and the difficult times manageable.

Wednesday, November 6, 2013: Today I'm thankful for the rain, for the cycles of weather and the cycles of life, for rest.

Thursday, November 7, 2013: This morning I'm so thankful that my unconventionally romantic guy remembered my summer flower pots and brought them indoors before bedtime, Whew!

November 12, 2013: Today I'm super thankful for friends... silly friends, helpful friends, understanding friends, challenging friends. You all distract us, make us laugh, love us, and help us make priceless memories. Men, women, couples, young and old, we are lucky to be so surrounded by great people.

November 16, 2013:  Today I am thankful for the magic that is DayQuil and NyQuil, for a husband who takes care of me, for excellent coffee on a rainy Saturday morning, and for family to surround us. Love on every side. Also thankful for book club even though I missed last night. Love you girls.

November 22, 2013:  So RELIEVED it's not icy! And our farm is apparently the only place in Oklahoma without thousand mph winds, so the animals are warm & comfy. Unfazed. I'm so happy. AND I am invited to sub 8th grade art all day. And they are paying me. What Choctaw schools don't know is that I'd totally do it for free. LOL TGIF everyone!

November 24: So easy to find a long list of things for which I'm grateful today! Warm bed, comfy house full of people I love. Fat, healthy animals ready for the weather. Barn full of hay. Shelves stuffed with books that want to be read. Coffee. AAAAANNNDDD a husband and father-in-law who drive me through the sleet to the grocery store for "emergency" hunker-down purchases. Haha Now for cuddlin!

November 26, 2013: Spontaneous late night coffee and wondow shopping with a very good friend. Shelistened and receivedmy life-complaints warmly but steered me right back to love. No pity party, no poisonous encouragement. Just steady love and laughter.

November 27, 2013: Some dense fog has cleared from my mind. Ready to see everything as it truly is again.

November 27, 2013:  You guys... Step outside and see the eastern sky. It is pitch black, and the Big Dipper is so clear. How beautiful. Happy Thanksgiving eve!! Love you all. Oklahoma is cold today but drenched in bright sunshine. Our pond is frozen and stunningly beautiful. And we have a firm grip on Love.

November 29, 2013: I love this man with all of my heart. He has loved me so completely, taught me so much, and shared so much of his deep, strong heart... He's woken me up, challenged me, and given me reasons to love people in ways I might never have thought possible. I am more intensely grateful for my marriage now than ever before. Friends, pray for him and send him your loving energy. Handsome, you have my heart always, now, and forever. Happy Thanksgiving babe.

Sunday, December 1. 2013:  G-R-A-T-E-F-U-L beyond words. In love with my life and every weird detail in ways I can barely articulate. Even the shadows.

Monday, December 2, 2013: Love the sound of these 2 men clinking their spoons eating hot fudge ice cream sundaes during a Monday night movie. Home comforts.

Tuesday, December 3, 2013 As pretty as this is, it's just a whisper of the technicolor sunset we enjoyed tonight in#Oklahoma! Incredible. The angels sang Beatles songs and the llamas danced with the chickens!

Wednesday, December4, 2013: Grateful for so many details today. Three loving conversation early this morning. Great fast run and animal chores done before school Fun day at school. Love with Handsome. Wonderful texts with my oldest. Assurances that things are as they should be. Opportunities to love our family and friends. So much good.
